I was torn between two other desks and am so happy I chose this one. First of all its beautiful. Secondly its so functional. I took the insert with the dividers and drawers out and put it on top of the desk and filled it with all my antique books, photos etc...on top I put a small touch lamp and more photos. Inside was very spacious and thats where I now put my laptop and TWO large boxes/baskets to hold bills cards envelopes etc. The main drawer is very spacious and has dividers for paper clips stamps etc as well as plenty of room for cards envelopes scissors. I own the large full size version of this desk and thats another reason I went with the smaller version. It really does give the impression of an older antique desk which is what I wanted. The drop down part is sturdy and well made. The tabs on the drawers in the insert are usable and you can put labels inserted into them to designate what the drawers are for. It really... I also have a small bedroom area and needed a desk to fit. It is just the right size, inside and out and also very beautiful. I fell in love with it and bought it immediately. the only surprise I had was that it was made in China. I guess Ashley has factories here and there. I still like it anyway. It came the other day and I unpacked it. First let me say the company does an EXCELLENT job of packing their furniture. This was packed so well that despite a gash in the outer cardboard box the desk inside was in perfect condition. Assembly was a breeze! Simply putting on the legs. This secretary desk is not only BEAUTIFUL, it is very sturdy and perfect for tight spaces. It will fit perfectly in the small spot my mother has in her apartment bedroom. The inside organizer system is very nice and the writing/work space is very roomy for the size of the desk. Very delighted and know my mom is going to love this desk! Its definitely nice enough to be one of those "family heirloom" pieces! |
