Both boxes appeared to have been shipped thru a war zone however the superb packing left no damage on any piece in them. This was the best packing I have seen in unassembled furniture. The instructions are somewhat vague in a few places and could be difficult if you are not handy but overall are decent. The desk is very sturdy and fits together tightly. I put pictures under the glass for decoration and have my mouse down there but I find it uncomfortable to have the keyboard under the glass like pictured. Some sort or rolling pull out keyboad shelf would have been a nice addition so your hands are not under glass while typing. The only part of this that seems shoddy or cheap is the wheels on the cpu tray. The bind and do not spin freely and the locks on two of them are flimsy. If I had hardwood floors I might worry that they would not roll and scratch it. It won't shake and instead of that paper composite backing a lot of furniture has now, it uses better material. The drawers can hold a decent amount of weight. The glass top is probably my favorite feature because you can eat and drink at the desk without worrying about ruining the laminate. I thought I would mind having my keyboard under the glass, but I actually prefer it to the pull out shelf on my old desk. Assembly was the easiest out of all the furniture I've put together, only one part was confusing; not a big deal. I had no trouble putting it together with the tools provided in the box. The shipment was a day early and well packed. CONS: Vertically, there's not a whole lot of leg room under the desk. While it's fine for myself, some people may want more. In addition, the glass top and metal edges give it a modern style and water resistance. This latter feature was very appealing to me because my last desk was damaged by a water leak. Of course, this new desk won't survive a flood, but it will stay dry on a wet floor or carpet.My desk arrived one day before Amazon predicted. It did not have any damage and none of the parts were missing. There was even a little bag of spare parts and a cheap screwdriver and wrench, but it is better to use your own. It should be noted that to attach the glass top, you will need a L-shaped screwdriver or one that is shorter than about 3 inches because there is very little clearance between the glass top and the wood surface of the desk below it.
