The desk all boxed up is really heavy. Believe it or not most of this back breaking weight is due to the extremely thick glass that just screams quality. I've only seen glass this thick on tables costing 5 to 8 times the price of this table. This desk is very modern and expensive looking. My friends guessed I spent $400 on it! I highly recommend this desk. This is one of those rare times you'll get way more than you paid for. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful almost perfect, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: TECHNI MOBILI Alterna Glass Top Metal Computer Desk (Office Product) The instructions were blah, and confusing in one part, because it shows screws in the hollow cylinder areas where the center rod goes in, so you wonder, "where are the screws" and if you are supposed to put them in yourself, and yet there aren't even any screw holes there on top of that.There are screw in caps on the bottom which are useless unless you want to raise the height, unfortunately its a typical too-tall for short people desk so it won't be pleasing them. The keyboard area can be used as a mouse area though, though not much space for that. The keyboard board area is very durable it seems to me, but it has a somewhat cheap look but also, but it looks above average. I don't like the ugly color of it though, it should either be smooth black or, a light brown office-grade color with a shiny sheen. It also has a rough look and touch which I don't like, but it seems to have something with keeping body oil from being visible on it and protecting it from easy... Read more Very nice and solid. Quality desk at an inexpensive price., By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: TECHNI MOBILI Alterna Glass Top Metal Computer Desk (Office Product) It took me about 30 minutes to put together, it is a little smaller than the picture makes it look, and I couldn't make that one last 4th screw that holds the glass top down go in because the hole didn't line up quite right. That is everything even slightly negative there is to say. The desk feels very solid and is attractive in a lot of different environments. The 1/4 thick glass feels sturdy and has a very slight beveling that is hard to notice but helpful in that it keeps angular pressure off your arm if it hands over the edge. The body of the desk is silver with chrome highlights and the drawer is a nice looking fake mahogany I think. I expect to enjoy this desk for a long time. |
